Samaritans was started as an informal union of a group of young people from the town of Stara Zagora who incorporated an Association at the end of October 1998. The mission of the Samaritan Association is to work hard for the full integration in the society of children, young people, adults and families in unequally ranked position on the territory of Municipality of Stara Zagora by rendering assistance to people, groups and communities through carrying out activities and provision of services.
Samaritans have been developing a social enterprise (SE) for production and trade of bee products and beekeeping equipment since 2003. Later, the SE expanded its activities in other directions – providing specialized trainings; computer networks and system support; IT-services and others. The main purpose of the enterprise is to create economic opportunities and to develop skills in the help of generating profit, which is really necessary to ensure the social services, provided to vulnerable groups.
